In 2012, Anastas visited Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for three months and created a number of paintings at a nearby studio. Ultimately these paintings were put on display in a successful Open Studio exhibition. They are the only paintings to ever be created by Anastas in the United States. This stay also marked the beginning of the US Project, a five year project geared toward promoting awareness for Anastas’ work in the United States. Read more about Anastas’ stay in Pittsburgh and the US Project in a recent Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article.
